Lumise is a premium WooCommerce product personalization editor for print-on-demand (POD) business. It allows customers to customize T-shirts, mugs, phone cases, tote bags and other merchandise with drag-and-drop designs. It generates high-resolution print files after checkout and supports direct API integration with Printful dropshipping.
1. System Requirements
- Working WordPress + WooCommerce installation
- PHP version 7.4 or higher, minimum 256MB PHP memory limit
- Enabled PHP GD library & Zip extension
- Official license purchased from CodeCanyon (single-domain license); unlicensed copies carry security bugs, missing updates and legal risks.
2. Installation & Activation
- Download the full Lumise plugin ZIP package
- Go to WordPress Dashboard → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
- Select the ZIP file, install and activate it
- A dedicated Lumise menu will appear on your admin sidebar
- Navigate to Lumise → Settings, enter your Envato purchase code to complete license activation
3. Core Backend Configuration
3.1 Products Base (Template Base Artworks)
Create blank product templates with printable areas:
- Upload base product images (apparel, accessories, etc.)
- Draw editable print zones: front, back, left sleeve, right sleeve
- Set bleed size and safe margin for printing
- Restrict customer upload file types (PNG / SVG recommended for transparent graphics) and maximum file size
3.2 Design Templates
- Pre-make finished design templates in backend
- Set extra surcharge fees when customers select your preset templates
- Categorize templates for easy frontend browsing and one-click editing
3.3 Clipart, Shapes & Font Library
- Clipart: Upload icons and graphic assets for customer direct use
- Shapes: Editable vector shapes (rectangle, circle, star etc.) without pixelation when scaled
- Fonts: Built-in Google font library; you may upload custom commercial fonts
3.4 Orders Page
View all customer personalized orders here. Download high-resolution print-ready files (300DPI PDF, PNG or SVG) for your printing supplier or auto-sync to Printful via API.
4. Link Lumise to WooCommerce Products (Critical Step)
- Create a variable WooCommerce product (for size / color variations of apparel)
- Scroll down to Lumise Configuration panel in product edit page
- Select your previously created Products Base template
- Enable product designer function, set extra pricing rules: color count fees, large print area surcharges
- Publish the product; a Design It button will show on product page for visitors
5. Front-End Editor Operation (For Customers)
- Templates: Browse and modify pre-made design templates instantly
- Clipart: Insert ready-made graphic elements from store library
- Images: Upload personal photos or custom artwork
- Text: Add text content, adjust font, color, curved text, outline effects
- Shapes: Insert vector geometric graphics
- Layers: Reorder, lock, hide or delete design elements
- Finish design → Add to Cart and complete normal checkout process
6. Printful POD Dropshipping Integration
- Purchase official add-on: Printful Integration for Lumise
- Log into your Printful account, enter developer dashboard to retrieve API Token
- Install and activate the add-on, paste Base64 encoded API key in setting page
- Synchronize Printful blank product catalog inside Lumise
- After customer checkout, order + artwork automatically push to Printful for production and shipping with no manual file sending required
7. Pricing Structure Setup
- Base price set directly in WooCommerce product
- Extra cost for using premium design templates
- Additional charges based on total print colors
- Extra fees for customer custom image uploads
8. Common Troubleshooting
- Blank designer page: Insufficient PHP memory, caching / CDN conflict, mixed HTTP/HTTPS content error
- Missing design files after order placement: Incorrect folder permission (set to 755 for WordPress upload directory)
- Printful sync failure: Expired API token, wrong Base64 encoding, incompatible plugin version
- Responsive layout broken on mobile: Re-adjust printable zone dimensions and enable mobile responsive mode
